The fifties – a celebration of femininity. An era of cinched in waists, full skirts and sweetheart necklines that created the most beautiful silhouettes, proudly accentuating womanly curves. Fifties brides are a firm favourite of Vintage Styler, and we’re delighted to continue our real life Vintage Brides series with two stunning brides captured by Photographer Sarah from Assassynation, who specialises in gorgeous vintage style wedding photography. Both brides we’re showcasing have gone for fifties rockabilly style, each interpreting the look in their own unique ways. When Kate married Seb, she chose an amazing Candy Antony dress, with a sweetheart neckline and a beautiful full skirt. The underskirt and waist ribbon were both a striking shade of crimson, which were the perfect complement to Kate’s fabulous tattoos. Kate accessorised her dress with Vivienne Westwood’s signature costume pearls, and a short veil. [caption id="attachment_120" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Bow Double Headband, Rocks for Frocks"][/caption] We also love the gorgeous prom style halter-dress that Jane chose to wear when she married Rich. The combination of the sweetheart neckline, striking black underskirt and black ribbon with polka dots created a beautifully nostalgic look. Jane’s choice of a simple and elegant up-do worn with a classic white flowered headband was the perfect choice to make sure the attention was fully on her fabulous dress. [caption id="attachment_121" align="alignnone" width="198" caption="Jane and Rich, Asassynation"][/caption] To emulate her look, keep your hair-style simple to let the dress do all the talking. The gorgeous new Ava feather headband by Debbie Carlisle Bouquets would be a wonderful choice to maintain the elegant hairstyle that Jane chose, without detracting from the statement the dress should make. For a super cute addition, we think both styles would also look gorgeous with a vintage parasol or umbrella such as the Dianna Wedding Umbrella!
