Floral Headpieces For Your Wedding Day

Floral hairpieces are growing in popularity for brides. They can create a relaxed and romantic feel to your bridal look whilst allowing you to be artistic and creative in how you wear and accessorise.  For brides wanting simplistically then delicate pins and fresh blossoms are great options or for the more adventurous play with statement crowns and vines.

The easiest way to create a stunning and romantic hairstyle is to include fresh flowers. Regardless if your wearing your hair up or down, it's easy to weave or pin real flowers into your hairstyle. The delicate baby's breath flower is perfect if you want a subtle touch, alternatively wild flowers such as corn flowers and primroses are a lovely addition.  If you are weaving flowers into your hair, you will need to consider the weight of the flower head and the thickness of your hair. If you want a heavier flower such as a rose or peony, then consider attaching to a basic comb or pin for added support. There are lots of great ideas and guides on homemade floral combs available.

If you want to incorporate florals into your accessories without using real flowers then there are plenty of great ideas from combs, slides to hair vine and side tiaras. Ceramics are popular at the moment, adding a touch of art work to your hair style, or alternatively organza and silk flowers can look beautiful and complement the materials of your dress.

Floral crowns can be as dramatic and modern as you want them to be. Carefully choosing the right colours, texture and size can vastly alter the impact that a floral garland makes, depending on your personal preference.  They can be a great way to incorporate a statement accessory adding a pop of colour without it dominating your overall look.  Alternatively, if you want something more subtle then consider green based crowns which add a really natural and earthy feel. Don't overlook floral garlands for your bridesmaids either.

Dolce and Gabanna showed us that you don't have to exclusively pick between florals or crystals, but instead combinations of blossoms mixed with crystal hair accessories can create a stunning look.  In 2014 D&G perfectly combined relaxed florals with crystal based combs and even the inclusion of a statement earring.  We love the light gold tones are used to complement the pastel florals, paired with a soft braided hairstyle.

Veils and florals are a perfect combination. If you're worried that the inclusion of a veil may make your look too cluttered then take inspiration below on how to combine to create a classic look that oozes elegance; whether it be with floral combs or fresh flowers.

If your pets are playing a role in your wedding then they need to look their best. We love these ideas for adding your colours and flowers to the guests of honour.
